An Update of Sorts


Hello gamers and devs,

It seems we've gotten quite a few views, and even a download and placed in someone's collections! Nice! It's seems we are due for some updating: -> We are currently hard at work trying to produce the 6th indev version of RWC. Codebase refactoring, and designing the pre-alpha have been our main focuses so far. 

The codebase has gotten out of hand as the initial scope of the project has expanded tenfold and beyond. Some minor refactors have been done in the past, but this newest one will be done with the final scope of the project in mind, hopefully supporting the advanced software ecosystem that RWC will become into the foreseeable future.

Over the last few weeks, we discussed many things, like technological progression, procedural generation, different races, traits, jobs, skills, and more. We've also been working on organization for this project so we can keep track of our ideas and flesh them out.

Version 6 will likely be the last version of the "in-development" (indev) stage of this game, and will likely be released at the tail end of the codebase refactoring before major game features are implemented, transitioning the game to the pre-alpha stage. This version will be available to anyone who wants to do any testing in this limited build and see the technical and artistic foundations for the pre-alpha. The game is still in a very early stage and by the time the alpha swings around, may look like a completely different game! As an aside, progress has unfortunately been slow due to our schedules. We aren't making excuses, simply providing an explanation as to why progress has slowed down. Look forward to summer and May in particular; hopefully progress on the game will increase around then.
